Doda (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the central government is working to connect the remote parts of Jammu and Kashmir by rail.
On Saturday, while addressing a public meeting in Doda on, Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi pledged a railway line from Delhi to Srinagar via Ramban.
“We are connecting the remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir by rail. The people of Ramban district, Doda, Kishtwar, and the Kashmir Valley will soon be able to reach Delhi directly by train. We will fulfil this dream of yours. The railway line from Delhi to Srinagar via Ramban will be completed soon. The station is ready, and trials have already begun. This region will soon be connected to the rest of the country by rail,” he stated.
“It is our commitment to provide better education and healthcare to the poorest families,” PM Modi added.
The Prime Minister also announced an increase in the PM Samman Nidhi amount from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000.
“Jammu and Kashmir is the only region in the country where every family is entitled to free healthcare worth up to Rs 5 lakhs. The J&K BJP has announced to extend this to Rs 7 lakhs for every underprivileged family. Additionally, Rs 18,000 will be deposited annually into the bank account of the eldest woman in each family. Until now, farmers in J&K received Rs 6,000 under the PM Samman Nidhi. Now, this will be increased to Rs 10,000,” he said.
He also highlighted the BJP’s announcement of the Pandit Premnath Dogra Rozgar Yojana, which aims to create millions of new jobs.
“There was a time when the youth here had to move to other states for better education. Today, with medical colleges, AIIMS, and IITs, the number of seats in Jammu and Kashmir has significantly increased. The BJP’s J&K unit has now announced the Pandit Premnath Dogra Rozgar Yojana, which will generate lakhs of new jobs if a BJP government is formed in the state,” the Prime Minister said.
“Students going to college here will also be provided with a travel allowance. The BJP envisions a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir that will become a paradise for tourists. The central government is also enhancing connectivity to boost tourism and make travel easier for the people,” he added.
PM Modi further assured that a BJP-led government would grant full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
He concluded by saying that the BJP’s resolve, combined with the people’s support, would ensure that Jammu and Kashmir becomes peaceful, safe, and prosperous.
“On 18th September, you must ensure a decisive victory for all BJP candidates by sending them to the Assembly with a strong mandate,” he urged the people to vote for the BJP.
The elections in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled for September 18, September 25, and October 1, with the counting of votes set for October 8.
The Assembly elections will be held in three districts–Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban–across 8 Assembly seats, with the first phase of voting scheduled for September 18. (ANI)
