Rohtak (Haryana) [India], August 26 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday inaugurated the BJP election office in Rohtak. He said that the people will support the BJP in forming a government in Haryana for the third consecutive term.
“The people of Haryana are enthusiastic for the government of BJP. As PM Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister for the third time, the people of Haryana will make the BJP form its government in Haryana for the third time.” said the Chief Minister while addressing a press conference in Haryana’s Rohtak.
Lashing out at the Congress over allying with the National Conference to fight for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, CM Saini said, “I want to ask the leaders of the Congress whether they support the National Conference’s anti-national ideology of reintroducing Article 370 and Article 35A by forming an alliance with them in J&K?…”
The Chief Minister further said that the BJP will prepare a Sankalp document for the next five years to accelerate the process of progress in the state of Haryana.
Earlier, BJP held a two-day brainstorming session in Gurugram to finalise its candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Haryana.
During this meeting, discussions were held on potential candidates for all 90 assembly seats. According to sources, the names finalised during this meeting will be further discussed in the Central Election Committee meeting.
The meetings were chaired by BJP’s Haryana State President Mohan Lal Badauli and were attended by key leaders including Union Minister and Haryana Assembly Election In-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Election Co-in charge Biplab Kumar Deb, Union Minister Manohar Lal, National Vice President Saudan Singh, Central Election Committee member Sudha Yadav, Election Management Committee Convenor Kuldeep Bishnoi, State In-charge Satish Poonia, Co-in charge Surendra Nagar, National Secretary Omprakash Dhankhad, Union Minister of State Krishan Pal Gurjar, Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh, State General Secretary Phanindra Nath Sharma, Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta, former Minister Anil Vij, Dharamveer Singh, Captain Abhimanyu, and Sunita Duggal.
To finalise the candidates for the 2024 Assembly elections, the BJP conducted an extensive two-day deliberation in Gurugram. During these marathon meetings, the names of candidates for all 90 assembly constituencies were thoroughly discussed. The list of candidates prepared in Gurugram will now be forwarded to the Central Election Committee, after which the final list of candidates will be released.
The BJP’s Haryana unit has prepared a list of over 300 potential candidates for the assembly tickets. This list will be presented before the Central Election Committee. Some constituencies have two or three names shortlisted, while others have up to five names.
On the second day of the meeting, which extended late into Friday night, the BJP leadership gathered feedback from office bearers and workers for each assembly constituency.
On the first day, Thursday, the focus was on the assembly seats in five districts: Gurugram, Faridabad, Nuh, Rewari, and Palwal. The second day was dedicated to discussions on candidates for the assembly seats in 17 other districts. (ANI)
