New Delhi [India], August 14 (ANI): The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and EduSkills Foundation, in collaboration with Ansys, Midas IT and the Wadhwani Foundation, have announced the launch of 200,000 virtual internship opportunities for engineering students.
This initiative aims to enhance employability by equipping students with practical industry experience, thereby increasing their job prospects upon graduation.
During the launch, AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “Internships and employability are intrinsically linked. With India producing a large number of engineers across various branches, AICTE is committed to preparing young minds for the future. This initiative brings us closer to our goal of facilitating one crore internships by 2025. It will also ensure that students secure employment in their respective fields while providing industry with a ready-to-work talent pool tailored to their needs.”
Prof. Sitharam further emphasized the broader impact of these initiatives, noting that “we are not only empowering students to acquire essential skills but also enabling them to tap into a wide range of national and global employment opportunities. This collaboration fosters meaningful engagement with the job market, creating a dynamic ecosystem that nurtures talent and drives economic growth.”
Chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF), Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, stated, “This is a significant stride in closing the gap between academic learning and the real world, ensuring that Indian youth gain practical experience crucial for their professional growth. Leveraging our collective expertise and expansive reach, our goal is to enhance employability for millions of students nationwide, cultivating a workforce equipped to tackle the evolving industry demands of today.”
Dr Buddha Chandrasekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer of AICTE, said, “The Council has taken many measures to empower students with valuable internships and skilling opportunities. This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to bridge the industry-academia gap and get the students of India career-ready by providing practical learning experiences. The AICTE internship portal already hosts a large number of internship opportunities for students. This initiative will help our students connect with various industries and gain real-time experience.”
Under this partnership: Ansys will provide 50,000 virtual internships in three key areas: Electromagnetic Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, and Structural Analysis.
Midas IT will offer 50,000 virtual internships focused on two domains: Bridge Analysis & Design and Geotechnical Analysis Simulation. Wadhwani Foundation will contribute 100,000 virtual internships specifically tailored to developing employability skills, ensuring students are job-ready.
These opportunities are available for students of electrical engineering (EE), electrical and electronics engineering (EEE), mechanical, automobile, aerospace, and civil engineering branches. For more detail visit https://internship.aicte-india.org. (ANI)
