New Delhi [India], August 31 (ANI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at multiple locations in the Gariyaband district of Chhattisgarh in the 2023 state assembly poll IED blast case.

The blast was carried out by CPI (Maoist) cadres while a convoy of polling and security personnel was returning from village Badegobra after voting on November 17 last year. A Head Constable of the ITBP ADHOC 615 Battalion was killed in the attack, the NIA release stated.

NIA teams today conducted searches at premises linked with nine suspects in the Maoist-infested sensitive areas of the remote Chhotegobra village under PS Manipur.
Several mobile phones and digital devices were seized during the operation, carried out as part of NIAs’ investigation into case RC – 05 /2024/NIA/RPR.

Investigations by NIA, which had taken over the case in March this year, had led the agency to identify certain supporters/OGWs of CPI (Maoist) as suspects involved in supporting the banned outfit in executing the attack. (ANI)
