Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 8 (ANI): All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) member Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali on Wednesday said that according to the alert issued by the Union Home Ministry, mock drill was conducted in which students and civilians participated.
He added that they were trained to deal with emergency situations and defend themselves.
“As per the alert issued by the Home Ministry for mock drill…students have participated in this mock drill. They were trained to deal with emergency situations and defend themselves”, he told ANI.
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) ordered nationwide mock drills for May 7 to ensure readiness for any potential emergencies.
Indian Defence Forces launched various strikes at terror hideouts at nine places in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh who briefed the media along with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Col Sofiya Qureshi, said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ was launched to deliver justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and their families.
Vyomika Singh informed that a total of nine terror sites were targeted.
“Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Armed Forces to deliver justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and their families. Nine terrorist camps were targeted and successfully destroyed… The locations were so selected to avoid damage to civilian infrastructures and loss of any civilian lives,” Vyomika Singh said.
During the press briefing, Col Sofiya Qureshi presented the videos of destruction of terror camps, including from the Muridke where David Headley and Ajmal Kasab, perpetrators of 2008 Mumbai attacks received training. Other than Muridke, Sarjal camp in Sialkot, Markaz Ahle Hadith, Barnala and Markaz Abbas, Kotli and Mehmoona Joya camp, Sialkot were among terror camp sites targeted in precision strikes, Col Qureshi said.
